Courses and Activities |

|
|
We work closely with Coventry teachers to
identify their objectives in order to tailor courses
to meet the needs of primary and secondary age pupils. Every course incorporates key
skills, teamwork and PSHE within the framework of activities chosen to
address the desired outcomes of the course. Scroll down to see a description of some of the activities and studies we offer at the Centre.

![]() Climbing and Abseiling: We use several local crags for climbing and abseiling. This means we can offer climbing at a variety of standards for pupils of all ages. |

We have several fleets of kayaks for use on lakes, rivers and the sea. We kayak on our own lake at the Centre and we also use local lakes, rivers and take trips on the the sea when suitable.

|
Underground Exploration: Plas Dol-y-Moch is in the heart of the former slate mining area of North Wales. You may have the opportunity to explore a slate mine or a mine where metals were mined in the past. |

![]() Canoeing: We have a fleet of canoes available for use on the Centre lake and another fleet for use on local rivers and lakes. |

|
Mountain Walking: As we are based in the heart of beautiful Snowdonia National Park we are surrounded by wonderful mountains for mountain walks to suit all kinds of groups. |
Gorge Walking Exploring a local river gorge - you might stay dry or you might just get wet!

|
Our local coastline gives us the opportunity to take groups rock scrambling next to the sea. Children can take part and climb at their own level within the same area on a picturesque beach. |
![]() Orienteering: The Centre has a full orienteering course on site and a compass course in the woodland just behind. We also orienteer in a nearby forest or we set you the challenge of map reading to navigate your way through the countryside.

Coastal Visit: Many courses like to visit the coast and we have a variety of activities including beach scavenging, rock pooling, looking at sea defenses and producing artwork and sculptures. |
Field Studies: We tailor Geography and Biology Field Study Courses to meet the requirements of the schools and the relevant exam boards to GCSE and AS/A2 level.

Evening Activities We have a range of opportunities for pupils to participate in activities during the evening. These may include a phototrail, the nightline (following a rope through the woods in the dark during winter months), the labyrinth (a series of tunnels with challenges incorporated, and problem solving. |
Free Time: There is plenty of space on site for pupils to enjoy the grounds. We have a football field, a volleyball field and a basketball court as well as many places to enjoy nature. We also have indoor games including a pool table, table football and a variety of board games as well as a library. A tuck shop which sells sweets, drinks, post cards and souvenirs may also be available during the evening.

Other Activities and Studies:
GCSE PE and Sport and Sports Leader Award. Citizenship, including an element of "giving something back". Media Studies AS courses where pupils film the practical element of their course.
